Cokesbury United Methodist Church/Red Bird Mission
Our office has donated toothbrushes, tooth paste, floss and mouth rinse to the Red Bird Mission dental clinic in Beverly, Kentucky. These were delivered by a local group from CUMC doing mission work in this part of Appalachia with Red Bird.
Soles4Souls
Our office has collected over 479 pairs of new/gently worn shoes! These shoes will be distributed worldwide to those in need by Soles4Souls, a non-profit organization that has distributed over 17 million pairs to people in 128 countries on 5 continents. Life Mile/St. Jude Children’s Hospital
Thanks to all who donated on behalf of Dr. Thorne’s participation in the annual Life Mile. The Life Mile is a physical endurance test sponsored by the Performance Fitness Center in Glen Gardner to raise money for children being treated at St. Jude. Thanks to your support the event raised over $20,000 this past year, and over $100,000 in the ten years the event has been held!
Dempsey Challenge
Dr. Thorne has participated in the Dempsey Challenge, which is an annual two-day run/walk and cycling event held to raise money for the Dempsey Center, in Lewiston, Maine. The Dempsey Center provides quality of life services for cancer patients, as well as those impacted by cancer, at no cost. Dr. Thorne will be participating in the Dempsey Challenge in 2018. Information will be provided at a later date.
